So Yesterday was yet another stellar day! We started off walking down 12th ave then went on a 2 hour sightseeing cruise around the bottom of Manhatten. We went down past Greenwhich Village, the financial district, Ground Zero, Statue of Liberty then under the Brooklyn, Manhatten and Williamsburg bridges up to the Empire State Building. It was fabulous!
Then we went to the Intrepid Museum for Sea, Space and Air. Which was also amazing. We went on a massive aircraft carrier, the concord and a submarine. We also did some fun interactive stuff like play in space capsules etc....
After that... dinner time, Nachos it was.
Then.........
And .. it was brilliant (would you doubt it?).. Mandy rocked it, and like the wonderful person she is, remembered us :)
It was an excellent day.
Today, well we thought it was going to be crappy because of the forecast.. It was wrong! A beautiful day yet again :)
Started off with a stroll downtown and then it was Madame Tussauds. Who couldn't stay in there all day seriously? It so incredible.
Then lunch in the middle of Times Square with the sun beating down. Could life be any better right now? AH-MA-ZING.
We walked from lunch to 'Toys R Us' which is so big it has it's own Ferris Wheel inside.. We walked around abit before we realised that we needed to allocate an entire day to it.. which we will indeed!
After the excitement that was this incredible store we went onto the 'NBC Studio tour' in the Rockefeller Centre. It was so fun to see all the behind the scenes sort of stuff that I'm crazy about. The two guys that took our tour were hilarious aswell, which is always a bonus! We shopped a little in the Merch store then wandered dowtown!
..To the Empire State Building!!!!!! Ahhhh, the weather was perfect I will remind you. It was right at sunset when we got to the 80th floor but then we had to wait another 25 minutes before we could get the lift to take you to the actual observatory deck (one lift was operating). It was then they opened the stairs and everybody, including us, mobbed (running) to the fire-stairs. 6 huge floors, very steep. Let's just say that the pace at the start dropped a fair bit by the 86th floor. Quite hilarious really. It was worth it though!
The most amazing, incredible, inspiring view you will ever see. Honestly magical! We stayed up there for quite a while, in total awe! Well worth the death run....Oh, and it was bloody windy, like you wouldn't believe!
Did somebody say Memphis! Yay, then we were off to Memphis. Which was fantastic! Seriously some of the best singing on broadway I think. We all realllllly enjoyed it.
Yet again, we had the perfect day! I love you New York City!
